Taz prepares for work

Taz, a year 12 student at Copperfield College, is developing employability skills through working one day per week at the YouthNow office. Taz is a valued member of the YouthNow team and assists with data entry, office mailouts and general office duties.

 

Mayoral Award for Melkie!

Melkie Kiflu, our regional winner in the Western Region Education and Industry Awards, has won the Wyndham City Mayoral Youth Award for Community Services. Newspaper articles about his success, has led to an automotive apprenticeship with a local Business.

Melton Business Awards

In year ten Samantha Vella wanted to leave school as soon as possible, she was sixteen and was "over" school. However, after undertaking work experience with YouthNow her whole perception of education changed.

Workplace Learning Coordinators Program

Workplace Learning Coordinators

The Workplace Learning Coordinators Program seeks to improve access to quality work placement opportunities for young people aged 15-19. The program will also ensure targeted opportunities for Koorie youth.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) has identified YouthNow as the organisation to best deliver the program in Melbourne’s Western Metropolitan region.

 

Western Metropolitan Region Education and Industry awards

The  highly polished sounds of Werribee Secondary College greeted winners and guests to the 11th Western Region Industry & Education Awards.

The YouthNow Employer Champion Awards recognise employers who have provided Workplace Learning opportunities for students in the West. Award presentations were made on the 6th of December at Roslyn Court, Essendon.
