Congratulations Ned

Ned Husic's success in achieving literacy, communication and team work skills has been electric. Not only has he become an ambassador for the benefits of Learn Local pre-accredited training, but he secured his goal of becoming an electrical apprentice by the end of the course.

Ned commenced training at YouthNow BizE Centre in late 2017 and through a combination of his persistence and love of learning, and YouthNow's wrap around services he overcame a lack of confidence to became an active contributor in team activities, achieving a high level of competence in employability skills.

Giving Back

On completion Ned secured an electrical apprenticeship with a local employer. In appreciation of YouthNow's assistance, Ned decided to give back to his community by writing an "apprentice guide" for other young people contemplating an apprenticeship pathway.

Nominated by YouthNow, Ned was one of three finalists for the Young Pre-Accredited Learner Award at the 2019 Victorian Learn Local Awards. At the Awards ceremony held at the Mural Hall Melbourne on August 23rd, he was presented with a certificate by the Minister for Training and Skills The Hon. Gayle Tierney MP.
